Inspiration

Designed by the team at Coupdeville Architects, this striking new build in west London replaced the modest bungalow that formerly occupied the site. The owners were keen to develop a dwelling that would provide more living space for their growing family. With 465m2 of accommodation spread over three above-ground storeys and a basement, their home ticks all the boxes.

A series of stepped cube-like structures creates the unusual form of the building, establishing an eye-catching succession of terraces and overhangs. In addition to incorporating large swathes of floor-toceiling glazing, the clever introduction of clerestory windows between the ground and first floors allows natural illumination to filter deep inside the property.
