Delegates attending the Focus on Social Enterprise Day on Thursday November 3 will have the option to attend one of the three workshops running during the day. David Bryan of the Social Enterprise Academy will be delivering a leadership and governance workshop, explaining strategic and operational roles and structures, what the key traits of leadership are and how to work with these. Barbara Halliday of Business Gateway will deliver a practical session on techniques and practices for managing staff and volunteers. Finally Ailsa Clark, in conjunction with Firstport, will be looking at ways you can make your business more sustainable.
Ailsa Clark, InspirAlba.
A Dragon’s Den-style competition will give organisations the opportunity to pitch to a panel to secure investment to help with costs to launch new start-up social enterprise activities or to support a new area of growth for established social enterprises. InspirAlba has been instrumental in organising the social enterprise activity for Argyll Enterprise Week. Established in 2009 by Ailsa Clark as a charitable enterprise, InspirAlba aims to assist community-based organisations to turn their ideas and aspirations into robust, sustainable business activities.
