What you need: Modern CSV
Time required: 30 minutes
A simple but effective way to organise data is to use a CSV, or comma-separated values, file. Each line in a CSV file contains a set number of items with commas between them. This makes it easy to turn the data into a table, which you can then browse or edit. A spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel can turn a CSV file into a table automatically, but if you don’t need to do any calculations or work with formulas, a simper option is to use the program Modern CSV. Once you’ve opened your CSV file, you can sort the data, search within it and make changes without having to navigate long lists of values in a plain text file.
