Recently I’ve found that some AI-generated content makes me feel ill. It’s nothing to do with the blurring of creative and ethical boundaries involved in producing AI art, nor the fear that AI will eventually put me out of a writing job.
Some AI image generators should come with a health warning
It’s more a visceral reaction to pictures that are clearly fake, in an unnerving and nausea-inducing way. Their plasticky texture, lack of depth, unnatural colours and strange glow combine to fill me with unease rather than a sense of wonder.
