Although I write about technology for a living, I have so far resisted the urge to turn my humble flat into a smart home. I own several smart gadgets – phone, TV, speaker – but I haven’t invested in a smart heating or lighting system that would raise my home’s status from semi- to fully smart. So I was interested to read about a device called the SwitchBot Bot (www. snipca.com/56136), which “makes any switch smarter in seconds”. It’s particularly good at flicking light switches, using a mechanical finger you control with an app on your phone. Now it’s getting darker earlier, this sounded like the ideal lazy way to turn my bedroom light on and off.
