Welcome to the August issue of Craft Business magazine. I couldn't write this introduction without mentioning one of the biggest political decisions to impact our country in a very long time – yes I'm referring to Brexit. I attended the CHA-UK's One Big Show last month (Review on page 12) and it was, of course, a hot topic of conversation. Everyone wanted to know what will happen next? Well I don't have all the answers, but Anna Wolfe from Ranelagh Political Communications did a good job of summing up the impact vote 'leave' might have on the market. See page 8 and discover some very honest and mixed reactions from the industry.

Have you always wanted to exhibit at a show, but been daunted by the task of choosing the right one for your business? Well turn to page 16 and discover what nine of the most popular craft shows (consumer & trade) have to offer you.

Also, it's getting to that time of year again, but before you get carried away with Christmas, don't miss your chance to capitalise on Halloween, a spooky festivity which continues to increase in popularity year after year – see page 34. Plus we have some great back to school launches that will help entice mums in store on page 25.

If beading and jewellery is more your area of the business, on page 24, where Jessica Rose from the London Jewellery School reveals the latest costume jewellery trends. Or if you want to know where to look for the next big thing Louise MacLeod from Burhouse Beads says, to look to America on page 28.

And for a new hook for your knitting selection, turn to page 33 where Stylecraft's Annabel Hill reveals just how much of an impact celebrities now have on baby knit sales.

Enjoy reading!

Per saperne di più leggere di meno
Craft Business is more than just a B2B magazine; it is an industry institution that for more than 12 years has uncovered the latest trade launches and sales trends, while offering business advice aimed directly at the specialist craft and hobby retailer.

Published eight times a year and supported by our popular online resource, CraftBusiness.com – the magazine covers all markets relevant to its readership including papercraft; stitching and haberdashery; jewellery and beading; knitting; general arts and crafts; and media, digital and online information. In-depth features exploring profit opportunities across the industry are complemented by advice from retail experts, comments from market leaders, and fresh perspectives from retailers themselves. Drawing on the experiences of these diverse voices, Craft Business reflects the challenges facing today's craft retailers and offers inspiration, innovation and support for their growth.

In addition to the magazine, back in 2012 Craft Business was able to take advantage of its position in the market and launched the only annual directory for the Craft & Hobby industry, comprehensively listing companies in the industry in one easy-to-use guide, available in both print and online.
