Summer’s here, so what better sporting activity to ccapture than something taking place at the seaside? We are talking about surfing, of course, and while some hardy souls are out there in the depths of winter, you’ll find more subjects in the warmer weather. There are two key technical challenges – focal length and shutter speed. The former depends on how close you can get and whether you want a fairly close crop, or a wider view showing the waves with the surfer. You can expect to have to use a 300-600mm lens, though.
