At the Barbican’s Modern Couples exhibition in London recently, my girlfriend and I noticed something. As well as a queer couple or two, there was a handful of very deinite throuples – that’s an “intimate, loving, equal relationship between a trio of people,” as sex educator Alix Fox explained in a recent article for Hufington Post.
Though multi-person relationships are rarely, if at all, shown as a legitimate alternative to the traditional twohuman set up, they’re certainly not a new thing, particularly in queer communities.
