To Inifinity

The creative team behind Infinity describe a new way to experience the Doctor’s adventures…
Mike Collins’ comic-book ‘cover’ for The Dalek Invasion of Time.

Doctor Who Infinity isn’t really a video game. Technically speaking, it’s a series of video games. Five, to be exact, with a sixth one on the drawing board. Each one is an interactive comic book, featuring vocal talents from the television series. It’s being produced by Tiny Rebel, the same team behind the long-running Doctor Who Legacy mobile game. Yet while that was primarily a puzzle title with basic story elements, Doctor Who Infinity is something altogether different.

“I’ve never seen anything quite like it,” says George Mann, who has penned the first Infinity story – The Dalek Invasion of Time. “It’s somewhere between an audio drama, a comic, a game and an episode. It’s very interactive, but it still has a strong narrative thread. And importantly, it feels like Doctor Who. The gameplay is very integrated, and for the user, it’s much more than just a series of fights. You really get stuck into helping the characters on their way through the story. I think it could go on to become a whole new way of experiencing Doctor Who.”
