Your views on the world of Doctor Who…
Last issue, Doctor Who Magazine hosted the World Cup of the Daleks, a readers’ Twitter survey which saw 1975’s Genesis of the Daleks voted as the greatest Dalek story of all time…
A Lego Doctor Who Christmas by Ben Jackson.

VICTORY OF THE DALEKS

BEN JACKSON EMAIL I thought the victory of Genesis of the Daleks was very well deserved. However, I would have really loved to have seen Remembrance of the Daleks [1988] in first place. The story contains so many amazing Dalek moments and it’s from a generally underrated era of Doctor Who. Plus, Ace smashes a Dalek with a baseball bat! What more could you want?

I would also have loved to see Resolution [the 2019 New Year’s Day Special] get a much higher placing in the competition, as I think it’s a superb episode which added a new dimension to the fear that the Daleks inspire. As for my favourite Dalek toys, they have to be the Character Options figures, even though the eye-stalks and other accessories on the ones I had always fell off . (I have bags full of eyeless Daleks at home.) Having these toys was a massive part of my childhood, so I was pleased to add the variants which featured in Big Finish audio adventures to my Dalek collection this year.
