Because of the bias towards turning monsters rather than human or humanoid characters into action figures, we’ve so far been denied a toy resembling the Doctor’s daughter Jenny, title star of this adventure. The one figure we did get from this story, however, is striking in its originality. Hath Peck – famous as ‘the fish who drowned’ – is recreated in all his purple-gilled glory, clad in combat fatigues with bulging pockets. The gimmick of water-breathing apparatus, enabling aquatic creatures to survive on land, is a compelling one, and the 2008 toy version is expertly executed, with an eye-catching translucent central section. Hath Peck comes with a chunky weapon accessory, and was later added to the Vespiform collect-and-build range.
