REVIEWS. PERSPECTIVES. INTERVIEWS. AND SOME NUMBERS
NEAR MISSES
Reach PCVR, PSVR2, Quest 3, Quest 3S NDreams’ Fracked once featured in this spot as a game we’d have reviewed had motion sickness not prevented us. Reach is a spiritual successor, building on its ‘VR Uncharted’ ambitions with sharper visuals and platforming parkour moves that were once unimaginable in firstperson VR. Yet while we had no problem with the preview build, the PSVR2 release version leaves us suffering some visceral déjà vu – a result, surely, of the visuals seeming to lag a moment behind our movements. It’s the kind of technical hitch VR can’t afford, especially in such a high-profile title intended as a poster child for the medium’s potential.
