KEY FAMILY HISTORY RESOURCES

WHERE THERE’S A WILL…

Where there’s a will, there’s a way to find out more about your ancestors. A will often contains unique information, and Simon Wills looks at how to locate these precious sources of family history

TOP TIP!

Copies of PCC wills from 1384 to 1858 are available to download for a small charge from The National Archives (TNA) website: https://familytr. ee/tnawills and are also indexed on some subscription sites, such as TheGenealogist. PCY wills are more complicated to find but Family Search has a helpful guide: https://familytr.ee/courtsguide
