29 Cdo RA Takes on the Alps

In December 2024, 24 members of the Regiment embarked on an ambitious ski expedition to Tignes, France for Exercise Wyvern Commando Whiteout. This Adventurous Training expedition provided personnel with an opportunity to develop resilience, enhance their skiing ability and take on the physical and mental challenges of the Alpine environment. After a busy schedule in 2024, which saw personnel deployed overseas for months at a time, the expedition served as a much-needed opportunity to recover and reflect. Adventurous Training remains a fundamental part of military life, pushing individuals beyond their comfort zones while allowing them to recharge, away from the pressures of operations. Skiing, with its physical demands and technical challenges, provided the perfect medium for this year’s expedition.
