Icon Magazine December 2015 Edizione posteriore

Only €2,49
On the occasion of our 150th issue, we have totally rethought the content and design of the magazine. The new Icon is all about the objects and architecture of everyday life – whether innovative tech and fashion, or cities pushing up beautiful skylines.

For our 150th issue, available now, Icon has turned over a new leaf. We may be 12 years old, but the content is all new, and the design is too. Written for the design-savvy, the new Icon is all about the objects and architecture of everyday life – whether innovative tech and fashion, the most exciting cityscapes, restaurants and hotels, or the neighbourhoods with the most intriguing design scenes.

With content divided into three sections – Lifestyle, Architecture and Objects – it’s pacier and more wide-reaching – ready to read lounging on the sofa at the weekend, on the plane for a long haul, or on the train into work.

Icon distils the very best and most interesting places, people and things, as well as revisiting key projects and personalities that have shaped the industry. In amongst this, we’re keeping hold of our top-shelf contributors with solid, thoughtful critiques on the latest works, reports from major events (and the stories of the emerging talent we find there), as well as incisive commentary.

In this issue – our 150th – we find some fresh design talent from Slovenia and Bosnia, explore two new hotels in upstate New York worth a pit stop (or more), and ask if architecture can be a catalyst for change in Albania. We even head to Gifu in Japan to meet the makers of Barber & Osgerby’s Hotaru pendant lamps – a 124-year-old, sixth generation paper-lantern business that is only now undertaking its very first international collaboration.

We also meet Moon Hoon, the rather wacky South Korean architect, who tells us why we need a few boring buildings in our lives too. Plus we catch up with Sean Yashar, Design Agent (in LA, of course).
