Apple Watch, when used to its potential, can be indispensable during the day. But thanks to watchOS 7, there’s little chance of you giving the device rest at night. Apple has introduced the Sleep app which tracks your shuteye by using the built-in accelerometer sensor. It can tell if you’re asleep or lying down awake and, by setting a schedule, it can prompt you to go to bed, let you wind down and prevent the device from disturbing you during your slumber.
The sleep tracker can be set up on the Watch in the Sleep app or on the larger iPhone screen, via Health in iOS, if you prefer. You can also visit the Sleep section of the Watch app and turn off the date and time during Sleep Mode, deactivate tracking and determine if you want battery reminders. The Health app lets you choose Wind Down shortcuts too, with mindfulness, music, podcasts and reading options easing you into the land of nod.
