As photographers, we can plan to be at a specific time and place in the hope of capturing the sun setting behind a scenic landmark. Apps such as the Photographer’s Ephemeris enable us to see precisely where (and when) the sun will rise and set on a map. However, despite our best plans we may not be able to capture a decent sunset shot. Fortunately, we can use the Photos app’s tools to tease out colour and texture to give our sunset more impact. This post-production processing is especially effective if we shoot in the Apple ProRAW format, because this gives us more to work with and leads to better results.
