There are many things that go into making a distro, and it all just gets dialled up a notch when it comes to the key distros. User experience is the culmination of these aspects, and while it begins with the installation process, it’s also heavily influenced by other factors, such as the default apps, the customisations and the tweaks the developers have made to the stock desktop environment and the apps, and how important these are in making the distro more usable.
But there’s more to usability than just beautiful interfaces. While things such as administration and package management are important, we’re interested in gauging how well these distros serve their core users. Some of these distros excel in one aspect or even perhaps a couple, but in this section, we are looking to see how it all comes together.
