New York was my last stop on a trip around the world that started in Johannesburg in South Africa and lasted six months. It was a great ending to the best experience of my life. Before I set off, I had seen a couple of ads on my Instagram feed for a company that operates helicopter flights over the city – I booked a sunset flight a couple of months before I arrived, and got very excited as soon I’d done so! I love trying new things and it was to be my first time in a helicopter. The flight was amazing. It was hot on the ground but as soon as we got up in the air, it turned really cold. Seeing New York from the air gave me a whole new perspective on the city – you don’t realise just how huge it is until you view it from above, and familiar sights such as the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty looked so different. It was a really cool experience and I would love to do it again.
