Personally, I could answer the above question in a heartbeat. For my desert-island discs, I’d carry ashore as many 12” singles as I could hold. Almost 10 years ago, I set out to celebrate the 12” as an artform with a compilation series called, aptly enough, The Art Of The 12”. Back then, the vinyl revival hadn’t yet taken hold – so, to begin with, the series was about celebrating the 12” across two CDs, albeit in a six-panel Digipak with a 32-page booklet.
