The display controls are on the front—easily accessible for adjustments as the light changes.
AS FAR AS CREATOR monitors are concerned, companies can charge as much as they like, safe in the knowledge that those who make a living from perfect color and extreme crispness will cough up. Hence the high prices, which can rise above $2,000 for a 27-inch 5K screen. This screen is also a 27-inch 5K, has an anti-reflection coating, and doesn’t cost anywhere near as much. Five is a lot of K to squeeze into a 27-inch diagonal—4K is often considered to be a bit much for a screen of that size, with 1440p a more normal amount of resolution, but this is for those who want to edit 4K video and still have some space around the edges, or want to give their graphics card the best workout they can. The 27-inch size is about right for those who sit fairly close to their screens, as a 32-inch display can be too large, meaning you need to turn your head to view apps at the edge.
It’s extremely sharp. A pixel density of 218ppi is less than that of a recent iPhone, but it’s denser than most desktop monitors, including the big 4K screens. Combine this with the IPS Black panel, which corrects most of the standard IPS’s tendency toward low-contrast images at high resolutions, and while you’re not going to get the same contrast levels as an OLED or mini-LED screen, it’s pretty good. The backlight is a standard LED, which not only keeps the illumination even, but means the screen can be fairly compact. It’s heavy, though, and not something you want to hold for too long.
