THE BUILDS
THIS MONTH’S STREET PRICES...
BUDGET
IT’S OUR FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR
: when Nvidia launches a new series of graphics cards that immediately go out of stock due to low supply, and then every scalper and their mom buys up every possible graphics card available, reselling them at ridiculous prices. They’re the worst kind of people. Sorry, they’re not enthusiasts. Not even slightly. Trying to profit off people’s desperation and misfortune is just grim, particularly when all they want to do is enjoy a hobby; an escape from the woes of the 21st century in whatever form that takes.
Anyway, with that ethical and moral rant out of the way, let’s talk budget builds. Changes across both remain relatively stable; we’ve had a few changes here and there on pricing, but nothing major. Hilariously, our primary SSD, the P3 Plus, fell by $1, and our secondary SSD increased by $1. We also saw a slight price drop on the 9600X, along with a fairly chunky $10 increase for last issue’s motherboard on the AMD system. We’ve ditched the Eagle WiFi6E in favor of the stock standard Gaming WiFi6, which is just as potent, with plenty of connectivity, but it brings the price back down to that $170 mark.
