Prime Minister Narendra Modi led his party to victory through a nationalist agenda and outreach to the poor, securing the first back-to-back majority in Parliament in decades. Although voters gave his right-leaning populism a resounding endorsement, critics and the Muslim minority continue to sound alarms about his Hindu-first platform.
