Andy Pearson-Greatrix works on his next painting in Appin Craft Shop.
TO PEOPLE in Appin and on Lismore, he’s known as ‘Andy the ferryman’, but renowned maritime artist Andy Pearson-Greatrix will be sticking to dry land this year as he turns his attention to painting.
Andy moved to Lismore to ‘get out of the rat race’ after spending 30 years living in Kent and working in London where he was a sought after artist, given his talent for painting dramatic and detailed maritime scenes. After making the move, Andy took on a six-month contract working on the Lismore to Port Appin ferry to get to know the locals and learn more about the island and local landscapes.
