SUPPORT QUANTUM PIG
Quantum Pig frontman Mark Stevenson has clearly decided self-deprecation is the way to win over a prog crowd who are eagerly awaiting the live return of Frost* to a London stage for the first time in five years.
Having been supporting the headliners on what amounts to a lengthy (for them) tour, he’s well placed to know if this will work, although on occasion you feel he’s overdoing things a tad. In his favour, the band go down well with the ever-swelling crowd, even if the music isn’t the easiest to get into if you’re coming at it cold (and it is a chilly night). That said, any band who namechecks Carl Sagan are fine by Prog, and a very amusing skit based around adding a part of Yes’s And You And I into their own aptly titled Keep The Nation Warm hits the spot delightfully. Prog would love to see Stevenson and multi-instrumentalist Ian Faragher with a full band backing them.
