THRESHOLD
Less thrash, more sparkle on two 90s prog metal remasters.
Wounded Land/Psychedelicatessen NUCLEAR BLAST
There’s much more than a nip here and a tuck there to Threshold’s remixed and remastered editions of their first two albums. Their 1993 debut Wounded Land was previously remastered in 2001 when Threshold were signed to InsideOut. However, this time round guitarist Karl Groom, aided and abetted by keyboard player Richard West, has rebuilt that album, and its 1994 follow-up Psychedelicatessen, from the floorboards up using the original multitrack recordings, which were done on analogue tape in the case of Wounded Land and an early digital tape format for Psychedelicatessen.
