HEMELBESTORMER
The Radiant Veil PELAGIC
Space is dark and full of doom with these Belgian post-metallers.
Move over, Gustav Holst. With their fourth album, Belgian doomsters Hemelbestormer take the listener on a tour of the solar system through the lens of the ancient Etruscans. They start at Usil – Etruscan for the Sun – and eventually land at Satre, or Saturn. Musically, the quartet harness shoegaze, post-rock and doom. They clearly enjoy juxtapositions, offsetting loud versus quiet, fast and slow, or dense and sparse, as Tiur switches between a lumbering, menacing dirge and blastbeats.
