The simple basics make the biggest difference to skin health: water, sleep and a decent diet. On the flip side, alcohol, prolonged sun exposure and excessive travel wear my skin down. What we eat provides the best long-term solution to good skin – avocado, good quality olive oil, less coffee, more water. There is a lot of wild salmon where I grew up in Vancouver, Canada, and I do believe it’s amazing for the skin. I also include supplements such as a high-grade multivitamin and crystallised vitamin C (over 1,000mg a day).
I only use holistic, natural beauty products. Rahua haircare, from £24.99, is great for rebalancing my scalp’s pH. Tata Harper Aromatic Irritability Treatment, £52, is a beautiful, soothing perfume oil. It doesn’t give me a headache – unlike mainstream, synthetic scents.
