Mark Howe, email What the hell happened to ? The stories were always a bit -lite, but what made it different was it was a comedy-drama sci-fi. Gone are the slightly messed-up but likeable characters, replaced by the most generic sci-fi crew imaginable. was hardly groundbreaking SF, but the interactions of the characters and the comedy made it at least stand out as different. Maybe the comedy was hit and miss, but without it the show’s become a slice of bland. So far the only improvements are the VFX and swanky updated sets and uniforms. Ah well, it’s on Hulu, so will probably get canned at the end of the season.
