FIIO KA15
Cassettes aren’t exactly known for their stellar sound quality, but that hasn’t stopped FiiO from designing this portable DAC to look like a tiny tape recorder. The 0.96in screen displays a graphic of spinning reels, along with real-time power consumption and file info, but what’s actually inside is a pair of Cirrus Logic CS43198 chips that support 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD256 hi-res audio. There are twin headphone outputs at one end and a USB-C port at the other, so you can connect it to computers and most phones, although FiiO’s control app, which lets you fiddle with the 10-band EQ, is only available for Android. Your Walkman certainly never sounded this good. £100 /go.stuff.tv/KA15
