SAMSUNG’S GOTTEN HOLD OF MY ART
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
With one of the highest pixel counts ever seen in a phone camera, the S23 Ultra could be the new photography king of the Android world. There are 200MP squeezed into Samsung’s new HP2 sensor, which can shoot stills at a rapid 15 frames per second, while 16:1 pixel-binning promises low-light performance so good it’ll attract admiring glances from owls.
The main camera is joined by a 12MP ultrawide and twin 10MP telephotos, one with 3x optical zoom and the other with 10x, plus a 12MP selfie snapper.
It’s not just the pixel count that’s massive either – the S23 Ultra is a giant of a phone, with a 6.8in 3088x1440 AMOLED display that offers an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and an embedded fingerprint sensor. It’s also IP68 water-resistant.
Underneath, a Samsung-specific Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU provides ample muscle, with a 5000mAh battery that can be charged at 45W over USB-C or 10W without wires. PowerShare also lets you charge other tech wirelessly with it, but that would require you to stop playing with it for longer than a minute.
