HOT FIVE #3
THIS TIME, I KNOW IT’S FOR REAL Core Time 2
If you’re wondering where you’ve seen this wearable before, cast your mind back to 2016. Donald Trump was elected as moron-in-chief of the USA for the first time, Leicester City won the Premier League… and Pebble successfully Kickstarted the Time 2, a smartwatch that never saw the light of day after the company was bought by Fitbit. Now it’s finally appeared, albeit under a new brand name and with a few changes to reflect how much tech has changed in that time. The 1.5in e-paper display is now a touchscreen, and the battery life has been boosted from a week to a whole month. There’s a speaker and a heart-rate monitor, plus it’ll track your steps and sleep, but it’s deliberately less sophisticated than something like an Apple Watch, with more focus on music controls and notifications. The only part with the original name is PebbleOS, which means the old apps and watch faces will still work with it, so strapping one to your wrist should make you feel like it’s 2016 all over again. Well, unless you’re a Leicester fan… As hot as…Jamie Vardy’s 11-game scoring streak$225/go.stuff.tv/CoreTime2
