Flicking through this fashionable travel mag the other day, this quote made me think. Are surfers global trendsetters? I guess it’s true. From the jungles of Indonesia to islands off the coast of Africa, surfers have been at the forefront of travel and exploration since the golden age of discovering new surf breaks in the 70s. And where surfers go, for better or for worse, it’s not long after that the trendy cafés, boho shops, surf camps and boutique B&Bs sprout up – from Costa Rica to Canggu.
