This issue’s guide is a great opportunity to show off a different element of miniature painting. When most people talk about this variety of painting they think of tabletop wargaming; not often do people think of board games. Whilst a good chunk do make use of meeples or card tokens, a great many include plastic miniatures and these are a great opportunity to add a special touch to that board game. To show what I mean let's take a look at Jim Henson's Labyrinth: The Board Game from River Horse.
The game comes with five characters from the popular ‘80s movie: Jareth, the goblin king; Sarah; Hoggle; and Ludo and Sir Didymus. Each one is a single plastic piece and, as a result, the quality and detail is not so great, but not when compared with figures from other board games. However, they have done a fantastic job of imbuing them with all the characteristics of their movie counterparts, meaning instant recognition if you're a fan of the film.
