A VICTORY FOR EUROPE? MACRON'S ELECTION TRIUMPH
Emmanuel Macron won an emphatic victory in France's presidential election on Sunday taking sixty six percent of the vote to Marine Le pen's thirty four percent. Her share was lower then expected, but she still gained almost eleven million votes, nearly twice as many as did her father in the presidential run-off in 2002. An Ipsos poll found out that forty three percent of those who voted for Macron, simply did so to keep Le Pen out, and only sixteen percent did so because they backed his programme. Within hours of Macron's victory, more than a thousand protesters marched in Paris against his plans for labour law reform. So what does all of this mean for the Macron and France in general.
