I hopethat this movie becomes totally irrelevant in 20 years,” says Shana Feste. It’s an unusual statement for a writer and director to make about their own work, but Feste has the bigger picture in mind. “This attack on women cannot keep happening. I could have made this movie when I was 20, 30, and it would have been timely. It’s one of the reasons that I wanted to make it, because I don’t want it to be timely for my daughter.”
Starring former Charlie’s Angel Ella Balinska, Run Sweetheart Run is the story of Cherie, a young mother on an impromptu date with a charming client named Ethan (Game Of Thrones’ Pilou Asbæk) when things suddenly turn violent. Forced to flee on foot with nothing but the clothes on her back, Cherie is pursued across the city by Ethan, quickly learning he’s a greater threat than she could have imagined.
