THE audiences at those In Utero shows were just nuts. You have to understand that when Nevermind came out, Nirvana did a six-week tour of 800-capacity clubs. And then the record sold 20 million copies, and they didn’t tour again for another year-and-a-half. So those In Utero shows were the first time people got to see them after Nevermind blew up. The audiences were totally pumped. We would walk out on stage and they were already crowd-surfing and throwing all this shit.
