When Vintage Rock first published this Beach Boys special in 2021, Brian Wilson was still alive and well and, as the group celebrated their 60th anniversary, there was always the hope that he might rejoin his old bandmates for one more album and tour. Sadly, it was never to be. In January 2024, Brian’s family revealed his dementia diagnosis, and on 11 June 2025, he passed away, surrounded by his loved ones. In this revised and updated special, we pay tribute to the genius of Brian Wilson and to The Beach Boys, one of the most important and consequential bands of the 20th century.
