runi Kashyap is a writer, translator, and Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Georgia, Athens. How does he fit his writing into his busy schedule?
‘On a working day, I spend at least four hours on my writing,’ he says. ‘I rise when everyone is asleep and write or edit what I’ve written the day before. I like to see the sunrise and I work with very little light in the room. When it is dawn, I switch off the lights and work only with my laptop screen light. It is blissful and magical. I enjoy spending time with my writing, and that’s the motivation. The rest of the day is work – teaching, grading papers, meetings, mentoring students, phone calls, etc.
