Microsoft Publisher is not in the same league as Adobe InDesign as a publishing package, but it does quite a good job – although there are limitations. We’re looking at practical aspects of Publisher this month, such as aligning object frames and setting up documents for precise layout using grids and guides.
What is Microsoft Publisher?
Microsoft Publisher is included in some of the Office suites and is described as a desktop publishing package used to create spreads and layouts. Although it is similar to Adobe InDesign it’s not really a professional equivalent for InDesign, which is a professional package. However with a little skill and a crafty eye it can be used to produce some really good-looking spreads and layouts, including books.
