Other pets may notice the absence of your dog. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence to suggest that just like you, they remember and miss their friends. They may be unsettled, lose their appetite, and look for their friend in the places he used to frequent. It’s felt by many that, where feasible, allowing them to see your deceased companion can be helpful. Try to stick to normal routines as much as possible so that changes don’t cause additional disruption and anxiety. Giving a little extra attention may also help and give comfort, and maybe try going on some new, different walks without the associations with your deceased pet. If your pet still isn’t eating properly after a few days, seek veterinary advice.
