Knit Now  |  Knit Now 108
Welcome to your new lovely wintry issue of Knit Now!
Do you believe there is such a thing a ‘knitting season’? I definitely knit all year round, but even this dedicated wool addict feels a thrill when the days start getting shorter and the cosy jumpers can come out of hiding. Well, if knitting season exists, we’re well and truly in the thick of it now, so it’s time to embrace the chill in the air, burst out the chunky yarn and cast on some Christmas gifts!
We’re got plenty of gift-worthy patterns to choose from in this issue, from the clever Winter Dreams pullover which uses simple raglan shaping to create Christmas tree motifs, to our quick and easy Christmas pudding-inspired tea cosy. Your knitting doesn’t all have to be festive-themed at this time of year though. There’s no better time to cast on a classic cable pullover or a simple pair of socks. As ever, if you’re thinking of treating yourself to some yarn, keep your eye our for the yellow boxes throughout the magazines for some fab discounts.
Not sure what to knit first? Why not put your feet up and have a good read while you’re making your mind up? I’m excited to tell you all about this year’s Knitter of the Year awards – we’re revealing this year’s yarn sponsor. There’s a fascinating feature on the history of wool and I loved finding out all about one of my favourite indie dyers, The Wool Kitchen.
Happy knitting,
Kate
