This issue is all about ‘new season knits’ – and what better way to kick off the new season than with the Wild Thing jumper (page 16)? Fun and modern, this striking animal print garment is so much fun to make – we hope it makes your “heart sing”! And grownups aren’t the only ones who can enjoy some of the animal action – the adorable Pretty Kitty jumper (page 74) looks adorable on boys and girls alike.
Several of our designers this month have been inspired by the coming of spring; from the gorgeously chunky March Winds accessory set (page 48) to the New Growth shawl (page 30), there are several projects perfect for taking off the chill.
Our jumper game is strong too – the Collegiate (page 39) or Solas (page 54) jumpers are great for those of you who love your cables, and the Minted pullover on page 88 has had all of the team reaching for their Merino Aran yarns! If you’d like something a little more luxurious, the Bernat velvet jumper (page 84) in a classic shape could be the one for you.
Although the knitters out there are increasingly diverse, historically, working with yarn has been very much a woman’s game. Turn to page 50 to read Rachel Balchin’s fascinating piece on how women’s voices and knitted creations are very much woven together. Don’t say we don’t try to satisfy your brain as well as your craft cravings!
