COVENTRY won a tense encounter through a late penalty kick from Dan Coates, but the high error count and the two hour duration of the game meant it was not a thrilling encounter. Skolars will doubtless question why they chose to run the ball when in field goal territory in the closing minutes.
Skolars opened the scoring when Lameck Juma picked up a loose ball from high kick from Neil Thorman to touchdown. They then had a good spell of possession and three penalties in quick succession, but chose to kick for goal when in range, but Neil Thorman missed from 15 metres out. Max Clarke was held up over the line and when Skolars were awarded another penalty in a similar position to the first one but Thorman was accurate this time.
