REACTION
BRIAN McDERMOTT
It stopped becoming a contest in the final 15 (minutes) but up until then I thought we were in the contest.
We never felt like we had a grip or too much momentum and they have some strengths and some big boys who we handled for a while but not in the final 15.
So I’m disappointed, but it gives us real clarity of where we need to be better.
It was a learning experience but we put a lot of effort into it and desperately wanted to win so the reaction could be valuable if there is one.
A loss like that can be helpful.
I’ve been I situations before where you lose a few finals and then win the big one at the end of the year, so that doesn’t mean to say that’s going to happen and I don’t think it’s a case that Leigh will drop their guard now.
