The Church of Scotland Presbyteries of Shetland and Aberdeen have announced plans to merge.
Describing it as ‘a signifficant moment within the Church of Scotland’, the two presbyteries announced the move after it had been formally agreed at their autumn meetings.
The proposed new Presbytery comes as Shetland moves towards a new ministry model, under which it will become a single parish, ministered to by a team consisting of three ministers, ministry development staff, a children’s and youth worker and a parish development worker.
