Framework has caught our eye in the past with its open, modular, laptops that put the user’s right to repair at the forefront of its designs, so we were excited to see it launch a Chromebook. The specs are impressive, with the design aping the Framework Laptop, with a 2256x1504 resolution, 12th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM (which can be upgraded to 64GB and a 256GB SSD, which can be upgraded to 1TB. As you’d expect, ChromeOS comes preinstalled.
These specs are high for a Chromebook – and so is the price, with the website announcing the launch (https://bit.ly/lxf295frameworkchromebook) announcing a $999 starting price. That’s a big investment for a Chromebook.
