Microsoft has discovered that its Linux supporting system Windows Subsystem for Linux is so popular that it’s having to backport it to run on earlier releases of Windows 10. The latest release of WSL 2.0 was only available on the latest v2004 release back in May 2020. The backport makes it available to 64-bit systems running v1909 and v1903 released back in May 2019.
