WHY DOES MY MAC WARN OF LIQUID IN ITS USB–C PORT?
Even small amounts of water or condensation inside the port can cause short–circuits and cumulative corrosion. Some recent Macs have detectors and warn you, so you can let the port dry out. If these warnings are frequent even when the port seems dry, suspect a failed plug or cable.
WHICH THUNDERBOLT CABLE SHOULD I CHOOSE: 3, 4, OR 5?
Prices of Thunderbolt 3 and 4 cables differ little, but TB4–certified products are preferable even for Macs with TB3. TB5 cables are still novel, and priced at a premium. Unless you expect to upgrade to a Mac with TB5 support, there’s little advantage in paying extra.
