AirPlay security flaw
RESEARCHERS HAVE DISCOVERED “dozens” of serious security holes in Apple’s AirPlay wireless networking protocol, potentially exposing many millions of devices to the risk of hacking. Cybersecurity firm Oligo gave the vulnerabilities the collective name “AirBorne”, and warned that they could potentially allow hackers to hijack third– party smart speakers, set–top boxes, smart TVs, and other devices. In the worst case, they could possibly even use the microphone in such a device to eavesdrop on conversations.
